"As someone else said in the testimonials, don't bother doing the research - I have also done it for you! We have a lake lot with a 30' Fifth-Wheel camper. We wanted a
24' x 36' metal carport to protect it and to offer us shade and to shield us from the rain. I checked with at least 4-5 dealers for the carports and all were very, very close in price because, as far as I could tell, the carports themselves almost exclusively were manufactured/installed by Carolina Carports. So it came down to customer service.
I found
Alan's Factory Outlet through a google search. Alan's website is very informative, had many good testimonials, plus they are BBB accredited.
I also found a local company who was also a dealer for the
carports. He was helpful enough and we really had a tough time deciding to go with the local guy or Alan's Factory Outlet. After speaking with Alan Bernau Jr. on the phone, the decision became much easier. Alan is very dedicated to his company, he is very friendly, helpful and attentive to our needs in this not-so-small purchase.
We ordered from Alan's Factory Outlet in late March, 2013.
Carolina Carports took over from there with the scheduling of installation of our carport. (They, too, were a pleasure with which to do business.) Although, I called/emailed Alan Bernau, Jr. a few times after that and he always got back to me in a very timely manner.
Our set-up date was set for April 11th. The crew, very polite and efficient workers, was running late and did not arrive at our lot until 6:30 pm, at which time, they started work immediately, and worked past dark. They promised to be back the next morning at approximately 8 am, and they were there a few minutes before. They obviously "knew their stuff" as they made putting up a 24' x 36' carport look easy. They were completely finished by 10 am, including cleaning up after themselves.
We are extremely happy with our carport and also very pleased with the purchasing experience with Alan Bernau, Jr. at Alan's Factory Outlet. We HIGHLY recommend purchasing your carport, shed, metal building, etc. from Alan and his company!"

Don't waste your time researching as I have already researched for you. Spent a good 6 hours researching all companies across the U.S. for metal carports. Researched their websites for content, verified phone numbers and addresses by reverse phone look-up, verified addresses by Google maps, researched companies on BBB website, researched company complaints on Google, etc..,. Talked to Alan personally which only verified the conclusion I had already come too about the company. Order went through smoothly. Alan's communication was outstanding throughout the process. Carport delivered on-time with no glitches. Carport looks great. Extremely happy.

I would highly recommend Alan's Factory Outlet and Carolina Carports Inc. We first dealt with another company for months with out satisfaction and delivery. Alan promised delivery in 2-4 weeks and our carport was delivered in less than two weeks. The installation was well coordinated, efficient with accurate positioning and leveling. We are pleased with the service, installation, structure and appearance of the carport.
