steel garages

Steel garages at Alan's Factory Outlet come in a variety of sizes and styles.  This is a vertical steel garage with one garage door and a single walk in door on the side.  One option available on the steel garages that this garage has is vertical sides and ends as the sides and ends are built standard with horizontal sheeting.

The steel garages are built in three different styles.

The steel garages are anchored to the concrete, ground or asphalt with free delivery and installation to 19 different states on all of the steel buildings and metal buildings.

The steel garages are built in your choice of 13 different colors.  That is a roof color, side & end color and trim color.  The garage doors are always white.

Alan's Factory Outlet has a display area for you to see the quality craftsmanship of the carports and metal garages.  Many other style buildings are on display including wood and vinyl storage buildings, wood and vinyl garages, two car garages and 2 story garages.  We even have a horse barn for those horse lovers.  We do all new orders as the display buildings are here to give you an idea of the different sizes, styles, colors and options available.

How are the Amish Pre-Built Sheds and Garages Delivered?

Posted by Alan Bernau Jr on Sat, Oct 2, 2010

All of the Amish Sheds and Garages at Alan's Factory Outlet are Pre-Built.  So you will want to make sure you have enough room for the Delivery Truck which is a 3500 4WD Dully and a Shed Trailer which is a 24' long trailer to be able to back in to the location you want your shed or garage.  The total length of the truck and trailer is approximately 52' long.  The widest point is going to be the width of your building.  Generally we need at least 1' on each side of the building so a shed that is 10' wide will need at least 12' wide clearance.  We also need 14' high clearance as the shed or garage is on the shed trailer which is approximately 2' off of the ground.

Here is a picture of the truck and trailer on a delivery.

Another question customer ask us is how does the building come off of the trailer.  The Trailer tilts up and gravity takes over with the building sliding off and then the truck pulls forward leaving the shed in the desired location.  Here is a picture showing the trailer tilting up.

The Building in the above picture is a 14x20 Recreational Log Cabin which has a 6' front porch.  Modular Log Cabins are also available finished as Log Homes with a Bathroom and Kitchen.

High Wall A-Frame Shed, Nice Look

Posted by Alan Bernau Jr on Thu, Apr 15, 2010

Highwall A-Frame Shed, Sheds, Storage BuildingsA High Wall A-Frame Shed, is a really nice look for a Building.  It gives an appearance of a more permanent structure, because of its height.  The Shed shown in the picture is a 14' wide x 24' long with the door on the side.  The door shown, is a real house door, swapped out from the standard wooden double shed doors.  This building is also displayed with an upgrade of insulated house windows, instead of the single pane shed windows.

We use this Storage Shed as our office and it has been quick and efficient for us in every way.

Some other uses for these Sheds might be:

  • A Guest House
  • A Pool House
  • A Work Out Room or Home Gym
  • A Crafting Room
  • A Sewing Room
  • A Wood Working Shop
  • A Recreational Room
  • A Potting Shed and much more
The possibilities are endless!  It is a cost effective way to get the space you have been dreaming of.

Sheds 101

Posted by Alan Bernau Jr on Mon, Nov 30, 2009

Sheds, Storage Sheds, Storage BuildingsOne of the first things you will want to ask yourself is what kind of siding do I want on my Shed.  The Most popular and economical siding on Sheds is Wood.  Wooden Siding is Durable and  Engineered to last a lifetime and comes with a 25 year warranty.  The average paint time is about 10 years.  Our Wooden Sheds come with an all Plywood interior.

Vinyl Siding is a nice option for a Maintenance Free Building that never requires painting.  All Vinyl Buildings come with a Limited Lifetime warranty and have an all plywood interior.  You may want to invest a little more into a vinyl building to save you both time and money in the future.

All Sheds are custom built so you get to choose the colors that best match your home.  Another key decision is what Size Building do I need.  First you will want to measure the space you have for the building location on your property.  Second, make sure you get a Storage Shed large enough to serve your needs now and later.  Many people in retrospect say they wish they had chosen a larger Building because the now need more space.

Please share any useful ideas you may have.
